Stephanie Kuhne's passion for creating and designing led her to complete a BA in Applied Design and an MFA in Sculpture from San Diego State University. She has been internationally
recognized for her glass art and received many awards for her mixed media artwork.
Stephanie has a long-term commitment to art with a professional career spanning over 25 years. She loves exploring new innovations and techniques. This led her to an innovative material, Metal Clay. Metal Clay consists of tiny particles of metal suspended in an organic binder and water. When fired in a kiln, the binder and water are burned away leaving a solid metal object. The very nature of clay is malleable, which makes Metal Clay a very versatile medium to work with. Metal Clay allows Stephanie to create small objects representative of nature, combing natural materials such as shells, stones and leaves with semi-precious gems and glass.
Stephanie now resides in Colorado, where natural beauty surrounds her. This environment is a continual inspiration to her as the seasons change. Metal Clay versatility itself is a creative match to nature, as it is non-toxic, water soluble, changeable and distinctive in its aesthetics. With Metal Clay, complicated metalworking techniques are simplified and eliminated. Stephanie continues to seek out the latest in media to aid her creative vision of art.
